There are few innovations that truly change and revolutionize the day-to-day practice of dentistry. However, by becoming a CEREC dentist in Sacramento, we have dramatically improved the dental crown experience for our patients in Sacramento, CA. At Midtown Dental, we recently acquired the CEREC 3D CAD/CAM technology, which makes “one-visit crowns” a reality for our patients. We are one of a very few select dentists who offer this technology in Sacramento.

Cerec Equipment

CEREC – A procedure with a long tradition

Developed in Zurich University, CEREC technology has been successfully used in dental practices since 1985. Only recently have dentists been able to use the exact same material as dental labs, which enables us to create the crown first hand and produce an even better looking and fitting restoration.

CEREC Procedure – What it means to you as the patient

  • No conventional impressions. The CEREC 3D camera scans the prepared tooth in just seconds and eliminates the need for unpleasant silicone impressions.
  • No temporaries. After I design your case, the CEREC restoration is milled out of a ceramic block in our office in only a few minutes. They are ready to be placed that same day, eliminating the need for temporaries.
  • No long waiting period. You don’t have to wait 2-3 weeks for your final restoration. You don’t risk the possibility of your temporary cracking or coming off. And, you don’t have to schedule a second dental visit.

CEREC Procedure – what it means to me as your dentist

By becoming a CEREC dentist, Sacramento patients gain the benefits of this excellent new technology and my years of experience as an artist. Because we are taking a digital scan of the prepared tooth, we are cutting out two steps in the crown process, thereby eliminating possible errors in impressions and models. The level of accuracy and the ability for me to control every nuance of your final crown, makes me more confident than ever that you are getting the best possible treatment that technology and dentistry have to offer.

In addition, being able to stain and glaze each crown to your specific tooth characteristics makes me feel like I am in my art studio every day! Rather than having to explain how I would like the final outcome to look to a lab technician, I am able to customize it myself. My years of painting and studying color theory make this part of the process come very naturally to me.

I am so proud to be one of the very select few dentists who offer this type of technology in the Sacramento area. I have been able to include patients in the design process and have been really overwhelmed by their interest. The excitement is infectious! When you need your next dental restoration, rest assured you are getting the best treatment available.
